Paramedic school has ended. I’ve passed the program. I’ve passed ACLS. PALS. PHTLS. I’ve taken both the practicals and computer based testing for national registry. And yeah, I passed those too.

I am now an NREMT-P.

Now, I just need a job. (Anyone hiring?)

Friends, there are BIG changes happening in my life. I’m a little busy with moving and stuff right now, so I’ll write more about what’s going on in the next few days. But it’s all good!

In the mean time… allow me the pleasure of one big “WOOOOHOOOO” to celebrate that I am now, at long last, a medic.

Just don’t forget the little guys and where you came from. This is only the beginning of your journey. Remember to never stop learning and don’t fear change. I have a feeling that everything will fall into place for you.
    Again, three cheers!

Well done. I remember a strange feeling of disbelief that I had actually got through. This isn’t the end of the process though, just the beginning of learning and developing at a whole new level. Enjoy it as much as you can and still try to have fun. Take care, Pete.

Welcome to the club! Now just to pass all those tests every 2 years, take another 40 or so hours of continuing ed and still be called an EMT!!

    Way to go 22!

Congratulations – it is an accomplishment, no doubt. TOTWTYTR is right, though: enjoy it for a few days to enjoy it. And if you can’t find work out there, I know of a couple of private companies in the Boston area that are hiring…

Great!! You’ve got your learners’ permit!! Now you realize that your study load has to remain almost the same, right? Because now, your tests aren’t written on paper nearly as much as they are measured in patient outcomes… and an F there doesn’t get a retake.

Remember, everything you know now about medicine will be different in 5 years.

Still, congrats though ;) I’d get ya a job here if you’d like, you can enjoy the awful pay and poor benefits. I’d be happy to turf you patients as well.
